Online Sports Betting – New Jersey Could Be First Of Many To Support Legalized Sports Betting
The pay per head sports bookies have been watching and waiting for something definitive from the state of New Jersey, and after a long period of what seemed like consistent indecisiveness, governor Chris Christie finally cleared the air and came out to back sports betting. According to recent polls conducted in New Jersey, there is an overwhelming amount of support in favor of legalized sports wagering within the state, and as those same residents fought hard to promote awareness for a referendum on the issue, it hard to be refreshing to hear Christie come through and back them publicly.
Christie told the people of New Jersey that he is ready to team up with legislative champion state senator Ray Lesniak of Elizabeth to back up the effort to have NFL and other sports wagered on in the state. Christie was at a New York Giants game when he said that he felt with gaming going on everywhere, it only makes sense to take it out of the underground and in to the hands of the government, where they will be able to control it and make sure that any profits being made in that area go directly back in to the state in order to improve various facilities and programs. A pending referendum on the issue would help give the people of New Jersey the option to decide how they want the issue handled, and if they are able to have it legalized in the state, it could be a first step as it spreads throughout the nation.
